Love Shopping For Bedding For Children

June 20th, 2008, Baby Accessories, admin, 0 Comments

Buying my children bedding is one of my favorite things to do. You might think that I’m crazy, but it really is a lot of fun. It is not that I am so into the idea of spending a lot of money on bedroom ideas for children. I know that beds and bedding for children are pretty spendy, particularly because they have to be replaced so often as the kids continue to grow. Nonetheless, it is a sacrifice that I am willing to make. You see, helping your child to set up his or her bedroom can be a great bonding activity for any parent.

A lot of parents are too pragmatic about their kids bedrooms. They will buy bedding for children when they see it on sale, buy whatever cheap posters they think the kid will like, and bring in whatever old bed happens to be already sitting there, abandoned by an older child. I have a different approach to parenting. I believe that everything you do with your kids should be, if possible, both an exercise in learning, and an exercise in fun.

That is why, when I am shopping for bedding for children, I make it a big production. Rather than just going out and picking out some sheets and blankets, we design the whole room together. For the kids, this is a great activity in a few ways. It gives them the opportunity to express themselves creatively, makes them feel more in control of their environments, and helps build spacial reasoning skills. Of course, it does cost quite a bit more to decorate a kids bedroom in a theme, but it is worth it! All in all, it is a much more rewarding and educational experience than simply buying your kid some sheets and a blanket.

Of course, you do have to set out some ground rules before picking out the bedding for children. Your kid has to be willing to stick with a certain look for at least 6 months or a year. You do not want to be buying, say, canopy beds for kids one week and then, the next week, have to buy a whole new bed when they change their minds. This can help teach responsibility. Your kid has to learn how to stick with his decision and take responsibility. That way, he will grow up knowing that careful decision making is important.

Early Learning Is Very Important For Your Child

May 23rd, 2008, Baby Care, admin, 0 Comments

If you have always wanted to know more about Early Learning, then get ready because we have all the information you can handle.

Though you think of education as starting when I child enters kindergarten, you should know that early learning can begin as young as one year of age. Children aren’t just learning about the world around them, they are slowing learning things like color, logic, counting, letters and fair play. Though you may not even realize it, you may have the biggest impact in these areas, and how they learn will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

You can turn to someone to help if you are like me. I’m not good at teaching, and I know it. Early learning for my daughter came from the Wiggles and I am not ashamed to say so. They taught her what she needs to know, and she is far ahead of her peers. She can write her name at four years old while none of the other children in her class at church can do so. I’m not saying shes smarter than any other kids, I just think I did my part to give her a good head start in early learning.

If you think you have learned a lot about this fascinating topic so far remember, we are only halfway through!

If you don’t know what you are doing, much like me, you should investigate the tools that are out there geared towards early learning. You can find shows like the Wiggles or perhaps Little Einstein to help them along their way. Children can learn from television, just make sure the early learning shows you allow them to watch are indeed helping them. You don’t want it to be purely entertainment, though there is nothing wrong with a little entertainment to go along with the learning.

In fact, entertainment might be the key to early learning in children. Take the Wiggles for example. They give lessons, but they give them in the guise of a story or song. They have skits that teach children without the children even knowing what is going on. Their help with early learning goes far beyond numbers and letters. They also teach about manners, fair play, and how to do so many different things, and they do it in a way that does not talk down to children. They just lead by example, and that is the best way, as far as I am concerned, to help a child learn and grow. If it had not been the Wiggles it may have been something else, but I thank God for them everyday. Not only have they taught my child so much, they have made it fun more me as well. More fun than you could imagine!

If you need help with Early Learning, or do not know how to begin, there are several free resources on the internet to give you a boost.
